Excellent shape for its years. Pronounced rim, letters and numbers. Some abnormalities noted, lettering stitched together in places and raised in places.

Ok, thanks. See any good errors? I'm beginning to think that I'm incapable of distinguishing what a DD is, so I'm not gonna. Lol

The 'stitched-together' letters, esp. in the word UNUM, are just minor die cracks. I would agree with PR-55.

Most of the doubled die on nickels is on the outside edge of the devices. So when you take images with the light at that angle, the glare is all we see. Try taking the image with the light from the center of the coin. Then the devices will show the doubled dies better.

Reduced light with a diffuser is also you friend. It makes the coin lighten, but not glare.

Keep in mind these are proof coins. So the lower light and diffuser helps a lot.

These are the areas, most DDR nickels are affected.

That is probably the issue mostly. This is my sitting station.. I'm using a Tensor but can't get it overhead, just at an angle. Then when I see something, I hold my loupe over it and use my iPhone to snap a pic through the loupe. Cheapest/best lighting suggestions?

That is too much light. Probably take several sheets of bond paper attached below the light to diffuse that light. That looks like a halogen light? Can you use a dimmer on it?

Well it has 2 clicks and you seen it on the brightest. Yes it's a halogen also. I don't see real well so idk if I can do it on the lower setting. I'm looking online for a different light that clamps on the table and has a swing arm to move where I want it. Also looking into a usb microscope so I can view them on the laptop screen instead of through this loupe. It's making my eyes blurry. Suggestions?

You can find a simple magnified loop/ lamp for around $20 at harbor freight. Use that to scan for dates and mm 's you wish to hunt. And an AmScope for around $140 for searching for minor varieties and markers. You can take some nice close up shots through the eye piece. Good luck!
