A dealer looked it up at a show and said it was the O-117. I'd love to get the book and look at all the varieties.

I have an 1830 also and it seems to have the same weakly struck wing feathers as yours does. If these 1830's come consistently with weak strikes to the wings then this may be an area to concentrate on when cherry picking.

I agree with the EF40 grade.

Very nice!

Hard to tell from the pics, but the condition of the draped bust and shoulder clasp, along with strong curls could argue for a strong EF. The shield, though, has strong horizontal lines but weak vertical ones. Could be due to weak strike, I suppose. Overall, nice looking coin, and none of these are easy to find in this condition nowdays, it seems.

Based on the available pics, I'm guessing it's O-103. The T in STATES and I in PLURIBUS line up wrong for O-117 - the uprights line up at the right on yours, and at the left with O-117. The real giveaway is the S in STATES on yours. It's separated high from the rest of STATES, characteristic of O-103. In addition, O-103 shows a slightly low 3, round, blunted stars, and the star locations match your coin.

Have a look at the C in AMERICA, which isn't pictured here. It should be a little low compared to the adjacent letters - if it is, I think we can call it O-103 for sure.

Yep, also the lean on the '5' in '50' matches the O-103. The location of the terminal letters in E PLURIBUS UNUM also appear to confirm.
