I picked this up raw from an estate sale. It's my first ever Morgan. What grade would you guys say this is, and, what do you think would be a reasonable price to buy it for? (I'll tell you what I paid for it after I hear some of your thoughts.)

Sorry for the bad news but this coin was harshly cleaned. There is no collector value other than for its silver content

Unfortunately very harshly cleaned. Grade doesn't really matter on this coin and would be worth not much more than melt value.

Ddob for future reference when you look at a coins surface and see hundreds of fine lines/scratches called hairlines you can pretty much assume the coin has been cleaned. Stay away from any that look like this. Surfaces should be as clean of these as possible. They are easily seen with your eyes if you rotate the coin with a light source above it

Cleaned. For this particular coin, grade does not matter much on the price if the coin is cleaned. I would expect this coin to be worth at/near baseline Morgan price of $25

Ah bummer. :( I only paid like 25 for it. I also picked up an 88 O that I think is an EDS VAM 1B. It's pretty black so, I hope it wasn't cleaned! I'll post pics of that when I get it edited. Thanks everyone. I might try to dump it on the Bay as a cleaned coin.

If you want to know the value of a coin, you should check the completed listing on ebay for a coin that is similar. Your coin has more value than melt even if it has been cleaned. Below is a 1878 8TF that appears to be about the same grade as your coin and the ebay coin was lightly cleaned, and the coin sold for $74. If you paid $25, you made a good buy. Your coin appears to have been cleaned, but I like your coin better than the ebay coin. See link below.
