Hello everyone,

I have been collecting since I was Youngephriam, now I'm old.

I am the second generation in a family of coin collectors that is now in its fourth generation. I gave a start to my grand-niece about three years ago and I just recently hooked my grand-daughter with a collection of Jefferson nickels.

Most of my collection is modern coins. I am focusing on Jefferson nickels right now, I have four holes left to fill in my Dansco album. After I finish the nickel album I think I will move onto finishing my Kennedy half dollar album (I have 15 holes to fill in this one). I would love suggestions on another series to start. I have most of the modern coins, but I am considering Franklin half dollars or modern commemorative half dollars. I would like to upgrade my LWC's and Indian Head cents. I'm not really interested in anything older than this, neither is my bank account.

I do have some old Chinese coins. I bought these when I was young and trying to find my true coin interest. I'm not sure if they are even real, they are small brass coins with a square hole in the middle. I will post a picture when Santa brings me the camera that I asked for Christmas.

I'm looking forward to learning more about coins from the other members.

Happy Hunting!

to CCF. Franklin half dollars is a relatively easy set to collect but also consider Eisenhower dollars.

The Eisenhower dollar set was the first Dansco book I completed many years ago. I briefly considered completing another set because I had almost half of them, but I traded them in for a certified 2015 Eisenhower reverse proof. Dollars are my first obsession so I have a complete set of circulation/proof strikes from 1971 to present.

Does the Buffalo nickel or Franklin half series have any key dates that will break the bank?
