I am just learning about the lamination errors and want to know if you think this is lamination or maybe that air pocket/bubble or maybe it not any of that. ?
Plating bubble. The 1982+ cents are copper plated zinc, these don't really get lamination errors. When you want to confirm plating bubbles: press on the bubble using a toothpick it should flatten.
Linear plating bubble: These can be on the fields or even over devices:
Zinc cents don't have a lamination issue as the zinc is not mixed with anything, just plating on the outside of the planchet. So they don't show up like they would on solid core coins that do not have a good mixture of the stock.
Thanks coop. I just had my first lamination errors earlier this week so I don't know yet how they are caused. I need to do reading on this lamination process.
