Here is an 88 with clash marks and heavy die polishing noted.

Reflective legends somewhat on both obv and rev, and a small d/c starting from the rim to the the "A" of Canada..

Q1..Is this heavy die polishing often seen on these cents..?

Q2..Would that be Die Deterioration on the top of the "T" in CENT..?

Q3..Is the bottom of that "T" also a repunch..?

Q4..Would that top of the "C" in CENT be die clash or a repunch..?

Just a lot of interesting details now noted after a closer inspection of this 1888.

Please feel free to add any expertise in on this cent.

Thanks....

Lots going on there, nice. The T looks repunched to me, just a guess.

The 1888 coins in the Landon sale had this heavy die clash feature on many I examined at the sale.

Thanks...

..and also for the added Landon info..
Even internet views of the Landon cents showed some RP's not noted on the coins..7/7's etc..

______________

..but is that Die Deterioration in the top of the "T" on this cent..?..or some other term for it..?

To me the top of the T looks like a weld repair to the die
Cheers Don

Vickies cents and GB Farthings nut.
"Old" is a figure of speech and nothing more

Thanks forumack...

That would have to be one teensy-weensy welding rod used on that "T"...die.

..and then the bottom of that same "T" has that little added bar or repunch..
