Hi everyone! I hate to break the news to everyone (well sort of ) but I found one a couple of days ago . It was my first one in $7000 worth of coins searched. I have a few now but I think I will hold onto them for now as everybody knows they are extremely hard to find now. Just a little story to indicate how lucky someone can be a times. When I first heard of these coins I went to the bank and the first Millennium coin I found (in the first $10) was an incuse flag. I thought they must have been a common variety and nearly threw it back. Luckily I kept it!

b_j_w, I had the same luck with the First $100/20c I went thru earlier this week... Pulled out a heap of good stuff (no Wavy 66 tho ;) ); since then its been MUCH slower going!

G'day, "... the first Millennium coin I found (in the first $10) was an incuse flag"; "... I had the same luck with the First $100/20c I went thru earlier this week"
my own experience is that the more I look, the luckier I get.
I think it'll be a few years before the supply of incuse flags is all tied up by collectors. In any event, the supply is finite. It remains to be seen what the level of demand is. Because the existence of this variety was not known until a few years after they were produced, then I expect very, very few were put out of circulation before they showed any signs of wear. Thus, what is available on the market will be coins showing a greater or lesser degree of circulation.
My strategy is - keep looking; put aside any that I find - only one, so far; if ever I get another one, I will consider parting with the more worn example, in order to fund some other aspect of my hobby.

Learjet, I average $75 p/week of 50¢, so for the last 3 years that's $11700 searched for 6, so $1950 per coin.
