Yes indeed... Time to go get $500 worth of 50cent from the banks and start searching?
It kinda sucks being a 'newbie' to this whole 'in circulation' thing! So much to catch up on! ;)

I had to buy mine after searching for months, ended up getting an ef for around $32, unc's were going for about $120 plus....probably why you haven't had any responses. You want one at face value, like Zaggy said, grab a couple hundred in 50's from the bank and enjoy the hunt. Believe me it is much more satisfying when you discover a coin you are after from a hunt/search. Good Luck.....

Have to agree with that... I've recently been thru a few hundred dollars worth of stuff (thanks to friends with businesses, family with 'money jars' (which I found a 20c with a dodgy Plachet, but cant remember WHERE I have left it! hahaha) and most recently banks) and it is kinda fun!
That said tho, sometimes we all just like a bit of instant graftification... ;)

As stated not too many people are prepared to part with one of their incuse coins. Most of us also started in the same way, searching, searching & more searching for all those elusive coins. I can't remember how long ago it was, but I had made up my mind to buy an incuse & started looking around at what was available. If I could have bought an EF one then for $32, I would have snapped it up quick smart. Anyhow, after a little procrastination & my not wanting to pay $80 - $90 for one, I actually found one while noodling, so all it cost me was 50¢. Since then I've found four more. None of them are XF, but at 50¢ each, I don't mind that they're a bit beat up. It just shows they've been around the block a few times before being rescued by me. If I had 15 or 20 of them I might be tempted to part with one, but with just 5, nobody is getting one of my 'babies'. They really are too hard to come by. PS. The last one I found was over 12 mths ago, but I don't especially get 50¢'s from the Bank to search through. The only coins I've done that with so far is $1.00.

I can tell you this... I have an Australian coin collection that people marvel at when I show it to them. Complete sets of circulating coins, a start on pre-decimal pennies, most of the silver Kookaburras, and a complete set of the silver Lunar 1 ounce coins.
All of those sets were made possible through trade, purchase, and gifts from my Aussie friends, who include Muckeye, Triggersmob, Gregk, humpybong, Snooba, Nevol, and others.
If you need something in Australian coins, those folks can get it for you!!

I don't want anyone to give one up, but if someone wants to sell one or knows where they are available for purchase that would be a good lead for myself and justabeginner and a few others. (Oh the joys of residing OS and collecting Australian Coins & Banknotes ) note this is not a buy sell or want to trade post -it is just a request for information for numerous members

Hehe, Richard, are you looking for one too? :) I promise if I find more than one, I'll sent one of to you and ElleKitty and ChristinaM if she wants it and anybody else who has helped me thus far... Including Triggers and Nancy and others.... Easier said than done, but hey you never know if someone comes in to maccas with 10 incuse flags for 10 cones...lolol

Being a fellow beginner, can I be on your magical list too?
My collection is a bit weird; 1933-1948 Third Reich/Occupation and NOW 1966-Current Australian Decimal and Varieties. Hahahaha, at least its probably unique!
