to the community This coin type is not my area of collecting but I'm sure someone will come along that can help. I removed the Chinese coin, it is a modern coin and doesn't belong in this section. You can post it in the World coin section.

Hi
Thank you. Sorry for the other coin. I actually posted the Chinese coin in the correct forum. For some reason the uploader mix the pics in the 2 threads. I uploaded the correct pics. Thought I had corrected it.
Thanks Nicolai

i really don't know much about these coins at all. here's a little bit about mass and size, that looks ok.. http://www.rhinocoins.com/ITALY/VENEZIA/OSV7.HTMLI'm concerned about the surfaces however, several little "bumps"...i hope it isn't cast. is there an edge seam or sings of filing? i hope I'm wrong...and may very well be.

My first thought was that it looked cast.

Thanks I have some pics of the rim / edges, but had problem uploading. Will try again. Its might be a casting. The coin was in a auction lot of coins and medals I purchased. This coin was only a bonus for me, as I collect medals. Thanks Nicolai

Hi Moderator
The pics of the rim, are correct and not from the Chinese coin, that earlier was mixed in.
Thanks Nicolai

http://www.rhinocoins.com/ITALY/VENEZIA/OSV7.HTMLGenuine coins appear struck not cast. Your cast is probably around or after the period. Not a modern forgery but a later contemporary counterfeit possibly of the period. File markings on edge, pebbled surface, etc. John Lorenzo United States
