Modern cast of a much-faked ancient type.

I think Bob is probably right... it is a type that is fairly expensive, and usually seen well worn and usual for it to be off centre. Alarm bells ring to see one with no wear and well centred but it is the surfaces that don't seem authentic for an ancient silver coin.

Yeah, certainly a cast - and not a particularly good one.

The completely wrong look of the metal (this appears to be neither toned nor cleaned ancient silver), the softness of galley and aquila, the evidence of an edge seam between 7:00 and 10:00 on the obverse (top) image, the missing - not worn - sections of the "R" and "P" at the bottom of the obverse (such missed spots happen in the casting process sometimes), and the conjoining of some areas (sections of the beaded border melding together and, most notably, the clump of metal that "rises up" and eats a part of the border at 10:00 of the reverse) are all indicative of casting.

I agree a modern cast fake.

I'm going to move this to the Ancient coin section so others can comment.
