To start, here's a cent that my mom found on the beach as a kid when she lived in the Marshall Islands, c. 1980.

It's the holy nickel! Interesting how the holes all go in one direction. Environmental damage.

So is it a planchet error or PMD?
I have another cent like the first one I posted but even worse, a 1953-S, but it's not really worth posting since you know approximately what it looks like.
