The prices at a local coin show were 24.5x to start with very limited supply at the price. The dealer then upped it to 25x which is where other dealers were. There was still limited supply available, but didn't see the frenzied buying I had seen a month ago.

I'm not surprised by your latest report Coinhunter. I noticed a slowdown in sales too in my recent offerings. Spot is so high that a lot of buyer's are sitting out this crest... Even at spot my silver doesn't move so quickly anymore. For example, I listed another roll of Eagles at 700 here in the forum and no bites. Dropped to 685 and still no bites. SDBullion is paying that for a roll so I couldn't go any lower before I pulled my listing. Funny to me because spot is still within 1 or 2% of where it was a year ago. Yah there was a big dip or two over the last year (below 18 about 6 months ago) but seems like 25-ish is the new benchmark. Personally I wish silver would nosedive so I could buy more, but I don't think that's gonna happen.

I hope it does as well. I looked at my purchase history this year and compared it to what I spent at the coin show this weekend. The average price/ounce is definitely up. I will still keep buying, but of course won't get as much for the same dollar amount as I was before. Even if silver drops to around $20/ounce for spot, the premiums will be high I am afraid.

Eventually, reality should catch up with the sky-high premiums.
I mean, how many people can actually afford buying endless amount of junk silver? Last time I checked, people's paychecks are not increasing by double digits. Are people really going to stop making mortgage payments to buy another roll of quarters?

I'd imagine that a lot of the people buying silver are people who can afford to buy bags of it, people who have money invested for SHTF situations. Since they're not likely to sell it, the premiums will just keep inching upward until we see a widescale dumping a la 1980 and April 2011.

Buying at 18x, selling at 25x. Just made a big purchase of quarters at 18x from a jeweler. Already sold when I arrived.

Hit up a small coin show today. There was very little 90% available and what was out there was 23x and higher for 64 and earlier 90% and 22.5x for the 90% modern silver proofs (there was a small handful of dimes and halves available).

Went to the LCS earlier this week and they were buying 90% for 17.5x face (roughly $24.48 per ounce so buying over the spot price). This stuff is in high demand. Will we see prices below 20x anytime soon?

I'd like to give you an answer but it's likely far too political for this forum.

Picked up a little over $8 face (dimes, quarters, halves) for 19x (including shipping). I think its way too much still but I haven't bought any in a long time so I figured I'd pick some up.

In this economy 19x is a good deal.

@Calzone -

Yeah I picked up a nice silver hoard a few weeks ago from a retired collector. World silver. Great stuff. No 90% so I didn't mention it here, but yeah, everyone is buying 90%...

PS: $125 is a decent price for a roll of Mercs these days. More than I'd pay for ave circ but blast white, yeah!

If there was any Canadian silver, I would definitely be interested in hearing about it (especially if any 50-cent or dollar coins were included).
