It looks like an old beat up S1 quadrupled die obverse to me. What you guys think ? Bought it a long time ago for $1.25 and recently went through all my 1890's looking for one.

Could be the S1. Check the 0 for a minor re punch as well as that is one of the markers.

I'd say there is a good possibility. Date position looks right, and something is gone with the tops of the letters in the legend. Interesting variety.

Looks like the 0 has something going on where it should be. Looks legit. Keep your eyes out, I found an MS63BN raw and unattributed for this variety. Bound to be more out there.

I believe this is one of the best varieties in the series.

After a little more research and going through about 600 listings I'm positive this is the Snow 1 . The base of the letters are too thick not to be. Especially STATES .
