I believe I have a 1901-P VAM 3 "shifted eagle".
Hopefully I can post pics decent enough to confirm.
If so, I'd be grateful to get opinions on grade.

Looks like it. Nice find! I'd say she might make vf35. Hair curl is still visible but no luster left at all and no breast feathers. Slab time

Thanks for the reply, Cascade. I will have to do some reading on the best, most cost-efficient way to get it slabbed. I have a few others I might could send in with it.
I was excited to spot this VAM, and it's got me going through the rest of my Morgans with a loupe!

Natchez, fyi you can trust John implicitly. Any morgan collector worth their salt would not hesitate sending him their most expensive coins. They will be in good hands. He has like 20 of mine right now actually

Thanks guys! It's on its way to John for verification and grading.
Finding this one has me now checking out my other Morgans. I purchased the "Hot 50" book
and I'm enjoying reading old posts here and learning what I can.

Super nice find, I have a couple of them myself, only found one, it is now in an ANACS holder but is polished like chrome.

Should have gotten it slabbed by NNC Westcoin. "Proofs" are more valuable.

Seriously though, that's a great find Natchez. Congrats!

I actually purchased it already in the details holder, the price was right, as one does not see many of these coins come around for sale often. My other VAM3 is mislabled in a SEGS holder as VAM10 I took in a partial trade from Larry Briggs for an 1878-S Long arrow nock in AU grade I had found raw. It ended up being the discovery piece for VAM 72 back in 2002. Should have kept that one instead.

Always did like the shifted eagle variety and had always wanted one since reading about them in the RedBook.
