another terrible box of nicks. got skunked on the dime box I bought today too.
nickel box only had 12 pre 59's, and 1 '82 beaver. no wars, nothing even to upgrade folder pieces. hopefully my box of halves that arrive on wednesday will be better.

Booo. I was on a different side of town for a meeting, so I stopped by the nearest Wells Fargo to get a box of nickels and a box of cents.

"That will be $125"
"Yes," I say.
She calls the vault manager to get coin out of the vault.
She turns around and says to me that it'll be a $15 surcharge and is that OK.
What the...
"No, that's not OK."
I've been a customer for ten years with WF. I cannot believe they would charge me.
I walked out of there before I could ask why I was getting charged all of a sudden.

Has anyone else experienced the advent of new fees for roll searching at their bank?

how large was this branch? I've gone to both large and small branches of wells fargo and have never been charged for coin. Whether I buy 1 box of cents or two boxes of nickels or dimes, it's always for face value. I really hope they don't start doing that mess out here!

My local bank said that they were going to start charging me a few weeks ago, but every time I go in to get a box of coins they say they are still trying to figure out how much it costs them to get the boxes.

I say the second they charge you say, "thanks, i'd like to close my account now."

I went through a Brinks box last night and found 16 pre-1956 including a 1943-P War Nickel. I also had 4 Canadian, which is the most I've found in one box. All the Canadians were 1980s and 1990s.

I have to agree JediChef. It was a large branch, but one that I've never been to before. Maybe they viewed me as an interloper. I plan to call the manager this week and just get a feel for what the policy is.

I've only been refused coin at one bank-and I don't go there anymore. I've never had one want to charge me.
All logic departs sharply at that point, especially if you have an account there.

Sounds like this branch should be where you start
dumping your searched coins.

Well, some of you might have thought I was gone, but no! Working a second job now, and it has limited my time to get updates on here. I am sitting on seven updates at the moment, and I am going to try over the next week or so to finally get them on here. I'll get to 25,000 rolls eventually, it's just going to take longer than I envisioned. I will get at least four of them on here tonight.

finally picked up a decent box of nickels today. 26 pre-59's including a '44S war, and a 1926 buffalo.
