Congratulations on that incredible find. A 1950-D is a grand slam home run.

My daughter called me from college to inform me she had found a dateless buffalo
in change. I said cool, we'll but it in vinegar and the date. She came home last weekend
and informed me she accidentally spent it. So there's another one in the wild.

I picked up another box this weekend and scored a 1942-S War Nickel which I needed for my folder! I'm down to about 7 dates I need. One of them is a fairly common date War Nickel that I just haven't found yet (don't remember which offhand). The rest are the usual offenders such as 1938-S, 1939-S, 1950-D etc. etc. I also had a 2004 proof which is always nice. I'll see if I can get a pic up.

Just passed through 186,000 nickels searched (4650 rolls) ..... still need the 38-S and 43-D to complete my quest.

Onward I say.

Just finished a box cointaining an au 1955p, an xf/au 1943p, a barely identifiable 1917 buffalo, a bu 1959d and a few bu 64's as well as the usual smattering of common pre 1959s. Very nice box. I'm still missing six of the set.

Not quite a 1950-D, but at the tail end of a cruddy box I found this:

The-Goal:-25,000-Rolls-Of-Nickels-All-Searchers-Welcome!
The-Goal:-25,000-Rolls-Of-Nickels-All-Searchers-Welcome!

That puts me at 16 holes left, and I have 3 of nicklesearcher's top 10. I still have a ways to go, but I'm getting there!

did $100 of bank rolls today, found my first buffalo! It is dateless and almost unidentifiable. also pulled a 1950 to fill a hole and upgraded the other coins. this was my best "box" ever with 36 pre 1960 Jeffersons.

Geepers RollHunter ..... I need that 43-D. Great find and the #1 all-time Top-10 based on my statistics.

Typically a "half roll hunter" but tried my luck on a box of nickels this weekend. First roll right on the end, a dateless buffalo. It does have a Denver mint mark on the back though. Pulled several pre '60s and a 43S. Been a while since I did a box of nickels, nice to get back to it again...
