one of the few upsides to the recession is that old nickels seem to be turning up in better grades and with higher frequency, all though jars and coinfolders people have sitting around are getting spent after years of being out of circulation

69 rolls today...10 were brand new 2010-P of the other 59: 3 canadian 1 1935 buffalo 5 1939 3 1940 1 1940-s 1 1941 1 1942 3 1946 3 1947 1 1949 1 1952 1 1953 1 1954-d 1 1954-s 1 1968-s 3 1969-s 4 1970-s seems to be a lot harder to find War Nickels anymore |

Some nice pre '40 specimens getting found recently. Very nice.  I searched 2 boxes today. The first box gave up 2 1939P's, but no where near as nice as the ones recently posted here, along with a dateless buffalo and 3 pre-'82 Canadians. The other box was solid brand new minty fresh 2010P's.  Edited by Bowfin

Found a Liberty Head from a box on Friday (finally). My 2nd. It's a 1909 and probably a G or VG. Showed up around the 181K searched mark.

nothing like finding a buff or V nickel......no matter what the condition, me eyes light up when it's something really old |

Box down this week. Found a '39, 7 40's which include a 42S, 17 '50's and a dateless buff. Cheap entertainment for a Sunday afternoon...

I got a 1950-D!!   I also found a 1927 Buffalo nickel and a 1988-S proof nickel.   |

Did another Brinks box yesterday with good results: 27 pre-'60 nickels which included a '51-S. The low mintaage Jeffs just keep rolling in!  My first silver war nickel- predictably a 43-P. Lots of BU 60's nicks. no buffs or foreign, but I'm happy with it. |

today I'm about to finish 2 boxes and and so far a 1943P,1945S,1945D,1968PF a couple of MS for upgrades on my albums . not bad and 7 more rolls to finish the 2 boxes !

Bought an NF String box today with yet again fantastic results.
24 pre '60 jeffersons, which included a 1945P and a fantastic BU 1938! (my first '38, nonetheless!)
A very nice 1936 Buffalo that looks about XF.
A lone 1989 canadian as well.
Congrats to the guy above me o the 1950-D. I've been lucky recently, but not THAT lucky!
I'll try to get pics of my better finds up when I can find my camera.

I went through a box last night like no other box I have ever received. It contained 72 1953 S, 6 1940 D and 8 1940 S all BU, one Buffalo and probably 50 other pre 1960 circulated nickels. I have seen an occasional early BU but never over two rolls in one box.
