I got a 1950-D!

Wonderful find Iizzyjo ... and thanks for the photo.

You get the dancing fruit for this one ...

It contained 72 1953 S

If these are truly MS coins ... then by all means check them for step detail.

The 1953-S Jefferson is perhaps the weakest struck of the lot (some will argue the 54-S is worse) ... and Full Step (FS) examples are truly vaulable.

Just to give you a sense of it ... 2010 RedBook price for a 1953-S MS64FS Jefferson is $4400.

Check for step detail.

Most of the 1953 S nickels that I found were produced with extemely worn dies. Only two had most of the steps present.

I am sure these were from original rolls because I found two roll end coins in the group.

I plowed through a brinks box today.

2 war nicks: 1945P and 1944P. Some common pre-60s as well.

No buffs but I found nine 2009D.

Also oddly enough I found not one, but TWO Singapore 20 cents. Dated 1985 and 1987. I think they're aluminum, but not sure. Wonder how those made it halfway around the world?

I did a box of N.F. String last night.

43-S and 43-D War Nickel - the rarest with only 15 million minted.
Oldest was a 1939
Probably 2 dozen pre-1960

Excellent finds on the 43-D and 39-D.

I still need that darn 43-D and after 237,000 nickels searched I say my turn is due soon.

I did manage to score 1 1939-D so far .... another tough circulation roll find.

The 43d is so hard to find , sometimes we find 2 or 3 doubles of some scarce dates and still no 43d !
