Greetings all, Did my first bag of nickels today and boy was that fun! I have been lamenting my foreign skunking streak in the penny thread but the streak ended today in fine fashion. Below are my numbers - I am happy and might snag another one tomorrow if I can. Happy hunting! Buffalo: 1 (Dateless) Wartime Silver: 3 (1942P, 1943P, 1944P) Pre-1955 Nickels: 41 (no 1949-1951 which was odd -- no rarities/hole fillers) 1956-1960: 30 (two AU type keepers -- 1958D & 1960D) Canadian: 23 (2002P, 2006M, 2009M) Foreign: 5 (Australian 1975 Two Cent Piece, Belgium 1980 franc, Mexican 2006 fifty centavos, Mexican 2008 fifty centavos x2) Other: Energizer watch battery, Lincoln Memorial cents x2 - Scott |

$100.00 Brinks box total today: 2 Silver Nickels
1-43S and 1-44P
2 Buffaloe's with non-legible dates, but one is a D .

$50 of Brinks rolls today produced an AU 1941, a 1971S proof, and my very first (although very beat up) 2009P!
Funny how I've found over 60 '09D before my first P mint.

Nope, I'm in Dallas  You'd think I'd get more of an even split here, but it seems Dallas is deep in Denver mint territory. |

String and Son box. Finally finished it after a busy week. A lot of 05-d's. 3 09's. Lowest date was a 39. Handful of Pre-70's Including an 70-s Proof  as well as a few that seemed to be uncirculated. Nothing too crazy, but definitely pleased with my first box. It helped me get off to a great start on my Dansco. Hopefully the next box will fill in my empty War Nickel slots  . |

Also, the verdict is now in on the two dateless buffalos I found a few months back that I soaked in vinegar. A 1916 and a 1917. (the 1916 unfortunately does not appear to be a doubled die) |

After a couple of weeks of having a hard time filling holes in my 1938 to 1964 Jefferson short set I decided to pick up 2 boxes of nickels for the weekend. The first box yielded: 1942 P D 1943 P D S 1944 P D 1945 P D S Also landed a badly worn V-nickel my first and oldest roll find  I now have the 40's covered in my Jefferson short set, all expcept for varieties and errors. Can't wait to tear into the second box.... |

Did 1 box today and I got almost 30 pre 60 nickels, including a beautiful 38 and 59. Also pulled a full date 37 buffalo and 2 War Nickels. This was my first box that had more than 1 War Nickel in it.  |

Another $50 of nickels today yielded a 1943-P and two dirty 1946-S.
Not complaining.

After spending most of my time searching pennies I finally decided to try a box of nickels. My first box yielded a 38-S is very nice shape! I think I may have caught the nickel bug.
