I went to Wells Fargo and when I asked for $20 in nickels, I asked for customer rolls. It's a good thing I did because I got a 1945S War Nickel. Other than that, nothing really of note.

Having gone through roughly $600 (2 $200 bags and the rest rolls)in nickels - only 2 2009 D and both were beat up. One coin I'm not seeing is 1960 D. The one in my granddaughter's Whitman is nothing to brag about and have not seen any in the last several months. Of the last 10 rolls, 9 had no coins older than 1964 and I got those from 3 different banks. The last roll started out the same way but had a 1955 D and a buffalo currently soaking in vinegar.

My kids and I went through $100 of nickles today and we ended up with two 1943P war nickles a few pre 1964s and $12 worth of pre 1982 canadian nickles. We also got a coin from new zeland. The only other war nickles I ever found was in cuba in 1996. A very good day over all.

I have not found a source for canadian 50 cent rolls. The banks I deal with only see some loose coins now and again. They are usually scooped up by the tellers I guess. It can't hurt to keep asking. I might get lucky someday.

I find on average two Canadian nickels per box of nickels searched, I probable have two rolls so far from two months of searching.
