It's been years since I found a two headed coin and this week I find two. A penny earlier this week (photos on the Lincoln Cent roll hunter site) and this nickel. It was made like the Magician's coins.

I'm thinking about buying nic-a-date soon. My dateless nickels are killing me out of curiosity. I used vinegar on one and I hated how the coin looks after. I'd rather look at a coin that has been acid dated only on the date.

So excited. I bought 2 boxes today, one was a box and the other was customer rolls. I started on the CWR's and dinner was almost ready so I had to stop. But I said I would stop searching when I find the next pre 1960 nickel. The next keeper happened to be my very first 1938 d! It was weird because maybe 30 seconds before I found it, I was actually thinking about how long it would be before I find a 1938 d nickel. It was so strange how that happened. And at first glance it looked like a 38 s. So, I'm pretty happy today. Only 2 holes left to fill!

Box #72: 1938 d hole filler 1939 (x2) 1940 s 1941 1941 s 1942 1947 d 1948 (x2) 1949 1953 d 1954 s (x2) 1955 d 1956 d 1957 d (x3) 1958 d (x2) 1959 d 1973 s proof 2009 d (x9) 1990 d Roosevelt dimeTwo holes left to fill, and they couldn't have been more predictable, the two lowest mintages: 1939 d and 1950 d. Wonder how many more boxes this will take.

Wow, I haven't checked this forum in a few days and people are making finds like crazy! Shield nickels, nice rare Jefferson's and of course, all those Buffalos - I wish I had that kind of luck! Reading all fo this makes me want to search through another box right now! Rachums - I'd got two dates from the three buffalo's I have been soaking in vinegar. 1916-P and a 1918-P. The third is so worn down that it's pretty much impossible to get a date from it. Maybe I'll get a bottle of Nic-A-Date. I need to go into the photography forum beacuse every time I take a picture of a coin, the flash gets in the way and this makes it difficult to get a clear image. I think it's because of the lack of ambient light in the room, but I am not sure. I went through Nickel box #14 - and I'm coming by to post some results. Nickel Box #141x 1938-P 1x 1940-P 1x 1941-P 1x 1941-D 1x 1942-S (war) 1x 1943-P (war) 1x 1947-D 4x 1948-P 1x 1948-D (hole filler) 2x 1952-S 1x 1953-P 1x 1955-P (hole filler) 1x 1956-D 4x 1957-D Only 58 more boxes until I catch up with murrellington.
