Got a 1982-S proof out of a roll a few weeks ago. Anyone else found a Jefferson proof?

I've found 6 Jefferson proofs so far in rolls. Although, I haven't found any in the last 26 boxes!

I've found 35 proof nickels roll searching with dates ranging from 1942-2006. Most of those came from the same box, which was obviously a dumped collection.

How do you identify a 1960 proof. Is there a mint mark? I found a beauty that had a mirror like finish, unlike any others I've found. It had no mint mark.

Also, I've opened about 5 boxes since my last update. I think I alread mentioned the no date buffalo. Other than that, I haven't found much interesting. Found two 38 and two 39 but no mint marks. One of the 39's was pretty nice. No War Nickels though.

I have found four 42's face up. Slowly turn them over to find disappointment every time. Oh well, the suspense makes it worth it.

Okie

Okie, can't help with your proof question but in my last 3 boxes I've gotten 4 wars, about a dozen hole fillers, an undated buffalo and numerous duplicates.

Keep the faith

Found 2 1939's and a 1978 that someone tried to make look like a War Nickel and added a P counterstamp.

Thats a bad fake, what is it they tried to make the date into, a 1943? Hard to tell.

Does not look like they tried to change the date. Just tried to blacken it and added the mint mark stamp.

Ram96, I would have been mad if I found that with the reverse up, only to be disappointed when turning it over. My guess is that was a practice nickel for someone who plans on turning a bunch of 1942 ' no mint mark" in to 1942 P's. Shame shame but probably a lucrative theft. It wouldn't fool anyone that was looking for errors but I'm not sure I would notice if I found a 1942 with this stamp on the back. Probably breeze right by it and throw it in the silver pile.
