And it's strange that I have only 8 mexican coins from searching. I live about a 35 minute drive from the border, yet I get way more canadian coins?

Maybe because pesos look so different. At least canadian coins look the same as ours. The pesos are a different color and more obvious.

I made a mistake. I went to one of my half dollar dump banks to get ni nickels but I forgot I had dumped a box there 3 weeks ago. Guess what I got...my old dump. Oops. On a bright note I snagged 14 War Nickels for 13 bucks

I've never found a Mexican coin in circulation. I did pull a 1920 Cuban coin though.

Today was the first time I found a P, D, and S mintmarked War Nickel in the same box. A strong F buffalo (1937) to boot.

That is really weird. For me, I live in North Dakota so the reason I find more Canadian is obvious! But I would've expected the proximity to countries to influence finds from those countries more. You guys from southern California, I would have thought would have been doing great on Peso's....apparently I was wrong (won't be the last time )

I've found 5 mexican coins (one on the end of a roll even) so far and yeah they are definitely a different color, so maybe that's the reason why?

From $134 of nickels today:

1939S
1950
1957 Unc
1958
1978D Unc

All these 1950-P's are KILLING ME. This makes seven 50 Phillys so far and not a single 50D yet, which is all I need for a complete set.

On the flip side, I finally got around to buying a bottle of Nic-a-Date for all those dateless Buffalos I got from that one huge find a month or so ago.

Aside from several 1915D, 1916D, 1917D, 1918D, 1919D, 1919S, and a few other dates, the acid revealed 3 1914D, and 3 1913-D T2! Not too shabby.

After the big Nic-a-Date fest, the only buffalo holes I have left to fill are:
1913S T2
1915S
1926S
1927S
1930S
1931S
1937S
1938D

1942 to 1945 are silver. However some of the 1942's are not silver. You have to look at the reverse, if there is a large mint mark above the monticello, then it is silver.
