I use my Canadian change up in upstate NY, where they take a 90% exchange of it as payment
for example, $10 CN would be worth $9 US

spending them is fine if it is mixed in with other coins. I actually bought a burger with a twoonie once. It all depends on the cashier. Heck, if you rolled them you could take them to the bank.

Thanks for the info on the Canadian Nickels Finished a box today that I picked up yesterday. Here are the results: 1 1990-S Proof and a 1928 Buffalo  21 pre-1960 (including 1 1939-P) 3 Canadian I also found a 1903 V nickel but I am unable to get a good photo. Every pic looks just like a really dirty blob. I think it's about time I invest in a usb microscope that will take photographs. |

i have been doing dimes for a while now but the wife had to use 100.00 for an x-ray at the doctor so I bought a box of nickels.glad I did.got an 1890 and a 1911 V nickel and a 1936 buffalo in the box. bought another box the next day and got 2 silver nickels in it.i am going to try another box monday and hope the luck continues.later greg |

Thank you. I have another question though. When you buy a roll of dollars, can you choose from large or small? Or do they just give you a roll?

Got a 1939, no mintmark, no doubling. 1946-S x1 1951-D Got 2 Canadians as well. 1993 and 1995 (My birth year!) Quote:

But that's a pretty big if. Heck, if they even have any dollar rolls at all you're in luck. The banks I go to only have loose dollar coins, and they're fairly large Wells Fargo branches. |

Thanks Johnny. I was going to buy my first rolls today, but it is Columbus Day and most of the banks around here are closed. I will try to get some large dollars, but I will be getting a couple rolls of nickels and will keep you all up to date.
