Thanks. That's the most I've found in any 2 boxes I've searched. What a way to end the year.

Two boxes of nickels: 1- 1923 Buffalo nickel1- 1943-S War Nickel1- 1994 Bermuda 5 Cents 1- 1938-D Jefferson in pretty good condition (hole filler!) 70- Pre 1960 Jeffersons (the scans of the 1938 really don't do it justice... much better in hand!)

This thread's title is "25,000 rolls of nickels" Did we ever meet that goal?

Nice haul Doberman. I am jealous of that 38-d - quite a beauty for a roll find!

I was opening up a roll of nickels at the gas station I work at and out comes this guy. The date appears to be a 1926. Beats my oldest find by 8 years! And I love the reverse to this coin, very interesting color.

Quote: This thread's title is "25,000 rolls of nickels" Did we ever meet that goal? I am the one that started this thread six years ago this month. If I had stuck with it without breaks, I probably could have finished it in 3 years. But, things happened to take my total concentration off of the project, and I ended up taking numerous breaks. I'm back working on it now. As of now I have searched 21,700 of the 25,000 rolls. So I have only 3300 to go. I am going to get it done this time; shooting for mid spring. At that point I write an article based on the results.
