After getting skunked on two boxes, we finally found a 1943P in our third box.

I can't believe that I found a 1943P double eye DDO, a 1943/2P, and a 1945P DDR but I can't find a simple 1938S.

The last coin before that I needed was a 1955(P) and I have found 5 since.

And of course every rarity I find has my curse of roller damage but at least it adds to the street cred of a CRH find.







I need to track this one down as I don't know where I last put it down.

Latest box yielded a 2005-S proof nickel (bison), 49-S, 23 buffalo in G-VG and a 44-P War Nickel! I haven't been able to find any proofs in a very long time and it's equally as difficult to find Buffalo nickels with readable dates on them!

OK, I don't have the stats for the last CRH (finished the box late last night) but here are the fun and interesting finds:





The 1911 was an exciting find - I haven't found a V nickel in a long, long while. The Buffalo has a barely legible date of 1919 and a fun find. The 1939S filled a hole (down to 7) and the 1956 and 1962 were in fabulous shape and upgrades to the album. I'm always impressed that AU grade coins can be found in circulation for most dates and mintmarks (of course harder for the early years, but amazingly available!). I found a 1983 nickel with nearly full steps, so an upgrade there as well.

Overall, a nice box with perhaps another 60 nickels or so culled out for being pre-1960, high grade, S mint, or for variety identification. I've a few RPMs I need to type but mostly readily available early 60s vintage. Happy hunting folks!

Thanks Jbuck. I don't know if you'll have an answer for this but I found a 2010 P that appears shinier than normal (I don't have it with me to post a pic). Almost like electropolished if you know that process but doesn't appear to have eroded details. Could be a plain nickel but has a proof like luster (with circ scratching). I had a 1970D I found last week that was similar but not as polished a surface. Anyway, that coin appears earlier in this thread and in a separate thread in the grading forum. Thanks for any light you might be able to shed.

I found 2x 2006 nickels that look like there gold plated. Anything unique here ?

jbuck - thanks for the bump! Probably right. I'll settle for that until one of the experts tells us otherwise.

Skibs - here are all the V nickels my brother and I found roll searching more than 30 years ago. Oldest is an 1883 and apparently, this was the second 1911. The 1912 is a Denver coin.
