Rackster, congrats on that incredible box from a few days ago. What were the years on the readable buffalos and V nickels?

1 bag yielded 45 P War and a 36 P buffalo in Fine. Also a retained lamination ( I think) that I will be posting later.

Thanks folks. I did put an order in for two more. It usually takes me a few weeks to go through but the success rate on both boxes lured me in. The last dateless buffalo is a 192? Maybe 1 but too worn to recover. Happy hunting everyone.

Believe me, 2009 nickels exist. Their mintage is 86 million, so that isn't as high as the rest, but you'll find one eventually if you keep looking.

Well break out the champagne and pass out the noisemakers:

I hate to be a "told you so" type, but you told me so.

First five rolls also yielded a really crappy looking 1909 V and a 1943P. Now diving back in to find the P mintmark 2009.

I love all this talk about finding the elusive 1950 D, and then sometimes a noobie here or someone who got lucky finds one.

Let's establish something that makes me mad personally..

Last year I went through 104,000 nickels. Year before that I went through around 80,000. From 2004-2012 I went through at least another 300,000 give or take, this is an estimate. Currently I've done 27 boxes, making that another 54,000 nickels.

2013-present those were mostly MWR, only a portion of those were CWR (maybe 5 boxes or so)

Total, I've searched around 538,000 nickels, give or take. It's easily over 500,000 no doubt, but the 538K figure might not be on point.

Still, not a single 1950 D.

Maybe that shows how rare they are to find, at least in Ohio...

Drew,

My son and I are in Ohio also. I estimate that we have done around 400 boxes, ie 800,000 nickels. We have only found one 1950d.
