For years I've been trying to assemble a Jefferson nickel set from pocket change, or the occasional bank roll. I think I'm going to try this box method and see if I can get a couple of sets going. As they say: the thrill is in the hunt!

Good luck Mike! Down to 11 for my 2015 project, 6 on my second set, and 1 on my first album. It can be accomplished!

Nice skibs! You found 3 1908s and I've found 3 1911s. Funny how a date kind of finds a person.

Box #20 results

30s: (1) VG/F 1938
40s: (11) 44P, 49S (2015 hole filler)
50s: (16) 58
60s: (2) 64D, 68S AU+ (first album upgrades)
70s: (2) 70S, 78 AU (first album upgrades)
80s: (1) 81D XF (first album upgrade)
2009: 1
E/V: (6) clashes (minor)
F: (5) all Canadian

I'm down to 11 missing for the 2015 project. This box was decent for getting a few upgrades and a hole filler, but pretty average overall.

Happy hunting folks!!

Thank you for the offer chip; that's the right attitude! I'm o.k. and I've done fairly well with S mints here in Connecticut. But I do have a west coast connection where we help each other with the opposite coast specimens.

Keep an eye open for a member in need, especially those new to the hobby or stuck on a spot! Many will trade to fill a spot!

PS - just noticed you're west coast too; PM me if your having a hard time finding a high grade Philly specimen.
