Took a week off, picked up another box for labor day weekend. Half way through and another find! 1942 P (the clad one). Count is down to 16 now. Still waiting for the 1946-D, which is the last clad one missing that was minted in moderate quantity. Everything else missing is a low mintage (mostly < 10 million), silver-war, D or S mintage, or some combination of all of those attributes.

So - another "good" box, keeping the good box streak alive at 8 (or 9 if you count the batches of rolls I started out with before switching to boxes).

Did my first box of nickels, not the resounding success I thought it would be. Was looking to get some buffaloes, but besides 2005, no buffaloes to be found. Did get a 2009P and a 2009D, a 1942 (Clad), and 1945D ( War Nickel). Also got some hole fillers including a 1940, 1941, and a 1947.

Not bad, but not superb either.

Had about $10 or so in 2015's...

Funny how this collecting business makes one dislike the sight of shiny, unblemished, but *NEW* coins...

Light on the numbers, but a few nice coins out of the box worth keeping. Maybe 12 or so which is a high number of keepers. The 2004 DDO is my second Stage D variety. Here are a few pic's of the fun finds -

I should indeed pay better attention to this long running thread ... apologize as needed for my long absences between contributions.

Now at 332,400 nickels searched ... and the proud owner of a completed circulation strike set 1938 - 2015 from local bank rolls.

In the spirit of sharing with the community I do on occasion publish a statistical update of my finds ... the latest update was at my CRH set completion .... and can be found here if interested ...

https://goccf.com/t/198187

Sharing now two nice finds from today's CRH efforts ...

1945 Switzerland 20 Rappen

I've found several Swiss coins during my nickel roll searches ... but never a WWII dated example.

The-Goal:-25,000-Rolls-Of-Nickels-All-Searchers-Welcome!

The origin of the coins legends has always intrigued me ... from Google ..

Switzerland's old Latin name Helvetia comes from the Helvetians, the first tribe settling in this central European region we have written historic records of. The Latin name Helvetia is still being used on Swiss coins and stamps.

Second coin ...

1980-P Jefferson MAD

True mis-aligned dies have the legend falling off the edge ... as is the case here.

The-Goal:-25,000-Rolls-Of-Nickels-All-Searchers-Welcome!

Both found today ... IMHO the roll search for USA nickels is the best way to enjoy the hobby at face value while possibly completing an entire USA coinage set.

Not to mention the fun finds I showed here.

Enjoy - David
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

Sounds good chip. I generally post the fun finds which can be anything in any condition; valuable or not. Sometimes the picture I post is all there is after the CRH event; I toss back the vast majority of the finds like many others here. Hopefully they're interesting to forum members who follow this thread. The point though is to have fun.
