Thanks for the detail photo ... you indeed have a lovely 1944-$ Jefferson. The war time Jefferson are know for their various die cracks ... hard working dies during a hard working time in our Countries history. Some of the most 'appealing' to folks like me are the die cracks through the 'S' mint mark ... such as your well worn but identifiable example.
