Finally...after about 3 years of greater and lesser volume searching. Got $40 in mixed BWR and CWR nickels and found a 39-D and 52-S. The 39-D is the last one I needed to find from circulation and it came out of one of the CWRs. Here it is:

mendelman - Very nice, congrats on the set. Was thinking of a nice silver gray suit coat to be awarded to the members only club. Of course with a Jefferson nickel head logo.

Nice looking 6 pack Rackster. Ironically I just found a Czech Republic coin last hunt.

Finds from the last couple hunts, the 2009 proof with fingerprint was a suprise. Just picked up my first $200 machine bag and can see 1 silver, looking forward to checking this weekend. CU manager says I can buy any other denomination bags if I want to. *Bank Box 50 rolls 1 - 39P 13- 40's - 48D upgrade 11- 50's - 0 - Silver 10- AU/BU 1 - Proof 2009S 1 - 2009P 1 - Cent 2006 2 - Foreign - Czech Republic & Panama 5 - Canadian - 61 *70 Rolls - 50 Bank, 20 Customer, shorted .50 in 10 rolls 4 - 39P 14- 40's - 47S, 48S 23- 50's - 52S, 53S, 55P beater 0 - Silver 13- AU/BU 1 - Dime 2014 1 - Foreign - Bahamas Pineapple 7 - Canadian

At long last, here are the totals from the first of two boxes (the S&S one). Thirties: 2 (38, 39) Forties CuNi: 7 (40, 41, 41-S, 42-D x2, 49, 49-D War: 2 (43-P, 45-S hole filler- RPM TBD) Fifties: 10 (53, 53-S x2, 54-D, 54-S, 57-D, 59-D x4) 1 blackened (1970-S) 2002 20 pence ($0.24 profit) 2005-S OIV proof 2009-D (only one)
Not great in most areas, but the wars make up for that. The 43-P is so worn that I didn't even notice the mintmark at first, but the 45-S is very nice.

Hi folks - thanks for looking. I'm surprised at how many 1937 Buffalos I've found over the years. A common find amongst the Buffalo (at 79M). Nice finding proofs! I've found that a quick wash with plain soap and warm water removes the greasy finger prints if you catch them early enough. Then a quick dip into acetone to remove any incidental finger oil transfer before putting into a flip can make a world of difference. You guys might want to explore that. I'm happy whenever I find a War Nickel, but especially the D and S mints. Finding an RPM would be even nicer!

Yes, the War Nickels are actually still out there and more often than not at least 1 or 2 in a box. I haven't searched much lately but it is fun.
