Visit Brian's Variety Nickels for listings, pictures, and markers. There is a "Best of..." For 1964d if I'm not mistaken. Good luck to you!

Some nice finds from my latest box: a dateless Buffalo, 1943P War Nickel, 13 pre-60 nickels, 5 2009 nickels and 3 foreign coins.

Just completed a box today. About 75% CWR rolls and the remainder bank rolls. In addition to a 1945-P War Nickel, found a real nice example of a 1940-P. Picture doesn't do it justice. Amazing how a 76 year old nickel can survive in that condition out in the wild.
Here's my pre-1960 finds:
40-P 2
40-D 1
41-P 1
41-D 2
41-S 2
45-P 1
52-D 1
53-P 2
54-D 3
56-P 2
56-D 1
57-D 1
58-D 2
59-P 1
59-D 2

Also found 8 Canadian nickels. One interesting CWR contained 2 dimes (1 US and 1 Canadian) and 3 Lincoln memorial cents.

Last night's box of machine-wrapped Jeffersons yielded one 1938-P and four 1939-P, and 15 from the 40s, but no silver. (That is much, much better than what I usually find in a box.) But distributed in the rolls were six really awesome 1959-P coins. It is hard to tell from the photo, but they are darker/toned:

Coins with writing had writing on both sides: FC on Obverse, and E320 on reverse. Any idea what this might mean?

Maybe they drive a 1995 Mercedes E320 sedan?

Fun finds indeed dadsoncoinhobby ... welcome to the nickel CRH tread to both you and your son.

I should probably check in here more often ... alas work and life get in the way.

I am pleased to report below my own little nickel CRH success story ... I'm now at 346,800 nickels searched and I've done it $20 at a time (10 rolls).

Longer time valued members of the CCF know that I maintain OCD-level statistics of my nickel CRH ... LOL ... and I'm planning on a complete 350,000 coin update when I get there.

Anyways ... for the first time ever in my $20 roll searching I found 4 War Silver Jefferson.

1942-P, 1943-P, 1943-S and 1945-P

I went back to the same bank teller and she was alas on a new box.

Great fun CRH for nickels.

David
