The Goal: 25,000 Rolls Of Nickels (All Searchers Welcome!)

So I got another box and it was great =D
Got 3 Canadians (1994, 1989, 1988)
Got 24 pre-'60 Jeffersons and had 4 keepers (1938, 1947-S, 1951)

And last but not least a 1944-D
This is the last War Nickel I needed for my whitman folder!
Now I only need the '38-S, '39-D and '50-D to complete the 1938-1961 Jefferson folder

Earlier in the week, I purchased a few stamps at a post office and received a 1956-D nickel back in change. I thought that was very coincidental, and immediately purchased another few stamps. Again, I received one 1958-D nickel back in my change.

On a whim, I walked over the nearest bank, and purchased 5 rolls of nickels. Unfortunately all they had were machine-wrapped ones, but they still yielded a few decent nickels: a dateless S-mint Buffalo nickel (the first I've found in a non-customer-wrapped roll), a 1938-D (which filled a hole in my folder!), and an extremely chewed-up 1946-P.

Nice job on the 44-D, CrazyCat... you've got me beat by two. In addition to the three you need, I'm still searching for the 43-D, and 55 Philly.

And Earendil, nice on the tough 38-D and the S-mint dateless Buffalo!

As for me, I had hit a little lull in Nickels until today... check these out!





3 different tellers at two branches of my bank, 50 rolls (1 box) total produced 15 pre-60s including those 3 goodies in the pic (29 Buff, 43-P, 45-S). The 01-D error, and the 06-S Proof were only part of the modern story. I also found two 09-P's, and eight 09-D's. I've now found 4 09-Ps this month, after only finding 3 in my first 5 1/2 months!
