Nice! Is it just me, or have 43-S War Nickels been showing up a lot more frequently of late?

With such luck, John77, I bet you will be pulling 1950-Ds out of rolls soon! Very nice!

Thanks, jbuck... though I think my best chance at finding the elusive 50-D was probably was when I stumbled upon those two LOOMIS boxes which yielded me over 200 Pre-60s including a 38-D, 38-S, and that amazing AU condition 39-D! Maybe I'll run into another batch like that someday soon! I can only hope!

Well, that's four for me in 2 days... 19 total since I started this back in mid-February. The more common 1943-P has shown up 13 times so far. In the old days, this was reversed. I would find more 43-Ps than anything else with the 43-Ss running a distant second. Being on the West coast helps of course.

New pick-up bank was out of halves, so I decided to get a box of nickels, which I haven't done in a few weeks. No wars or buffaloes, but a record-breaking (for me) 30 pre-1960 Jeffersons. Strangely enough, 1946 was the most represented date with 7 plains and 1 D. The keepers were a 1948-S which has some good detail but looks like it spent some time in a parking lot. A 1951 plain and 1951-D (could have been 1 year older, but no).

Got 2 foreign finds. A 2000 Canadian nickel and a 1997 1 Ruble, which is the first Russian coin I've ever found

Thanks, rackster. I'm doing the equivalent of about five boxes of nickels per week.

It helps me as well. I haven't done enough nickels to provide a decent sample, but I've found them in relatively similar numbers (3 P, 2 S).

Very nice 40-D, dadsoncoinhobby! An AU-50 at worst, but it may be better... would need to see some angled photos/photos with other lighting.

Today I had 2 1939 p nickels in one roll! Sad to say, those are my oldest dated nickels. Still, not bad for a maching wrapped roll!
