Yes, but this isn't the right thread for garage sale purchases. Nice finds, though!

Another '35 Buffalo to add to the herd and a heavily oxidized '44-S War Nickel to add to the stack. 26 Pre-60s total in just 40 String & Sons rolls, along with a single 09-D.

You herd keeps growing. The War Nickel looks like it saw some front line action.

Awesome, John77! Do you have a general average for how many rolls you average per Buffalo nickel? I generally get one per 2.5 boxes, but my guess is that you are doing better!

Indeed on both counts, jbuck... And thanks, aristarchus123! BTW, I did an estimate based on 120K coins searched... I'm at approximately 1 Buffalo every 2.4 boxes. Of note, I've done much better with them the last three months than the first four. I'm going to be doing some spreadsheet work in the coming days... so I should be able to get some more accurate data then.

Another 35 rolls today from various sources produced 21 pre-60s including another 1943-S, the always difficult 1958 Philly, and two 2009-Ds. Lately I've been getting both quantity and quality!

Your War Nickels are giving the Buffalo herd a good run.

Well, actually the Buffalo herd has been overrun by an almost 2 1/2 to 1 ratio... LOL. I had a teaser on the end roll finds thread... I only did 18 rolls today, producing a lowly 5 pre-60s and a single 09-D. However, 3 of the pre-60s were S mints including the aforementioned 1945 War Nickel ender!

I am not sure which I would prefer to have in the majority, Buffaloes or the silver. I know I would not complain about finding either.

Yes, finding either makes it a good day! 28 rolls today produced 11 pre-60s, including a 42-P... 4th straight day of finding a War Nickel!
