Yes, I was very happy about those 2009-Ds, jbuck. As for the 2005-Ps, I have rolled 40 of them up and likely will ebay them later today just to see if I get any takers. I'm keeping the best 16 of them for myself.

Relatively speaking, it's been a slower than usual silver month for me. Only my 7th War Nickel of October after finding 17 each of the past two... It all goes in cycles though, and next month I will be stepping up my searching in all denominations.

The occasional find is still better than no finds at all, but hopefully it will pick up. Good luck with the multi-denominations blitz.

Thanks, jbuck... I'd definitely rather have a trickle than nothing at all... And I'm having a record month in 2009 nickels, so not all is lost.

I call that a win. Those seem to be rare here. I was lucky enough to find the 2009 P&D nickels to fill my album holes.

Yes, definitely a win, jbuck... It seems that different parts of the country have differing difficulty in finding 2009 nickels...

Today, I unexpectedly picked up $90 in halves... I only bought 12 rolls of nickels as a result... I found no coins in the 1950s, three coins in the 1940s, AND 1 coin in the 1920s with a mintmark!

I haven't posted much in this thread but I still do 2 boxes a week. I haven't found anything monumental to post about other than my 1950-D a few weeks ago and maybe the one box that 3 buffalo's in it or the one with 4 War Nickels.

BUT today I went through my 2 boxes from Tuesday and split between the 2 were 30 or so absolutely beautiful 1942-1967 nickels most of which have toned to a nice golden color. Unfortunately only 2 or 3 of them were upgrades. I am thinking collection dump even though there were multiples of a few dates like 5 1953-S, 3 1959-D, and 3 1967.

I am sure there are more boxes out there with the rest of this dump. I hope they are sitting at Chase where I got these from (I am going to go back for another box tomorrow) and not halfway across town or sitting in the cash register at some fast food restaurant or grocery store.

The pictures don't do the coins justice.

Thanks, jbuck and rackster... almost an upgrade too!

And Jack, those are beautiful nickels! Congrats! I found a bunch of similar looking 1959-D (1), 1963 (4) and 1964-D (7) nickels today in a batch of 9 String&Son rolls at one of my backup banks... And at least one of the '64-Ds has lots of steps on it... Pictures later.

Overall, my 52 rolls today produced 28 pre-60s... but no noteworthy dates, and strangely not a single 2009 dated coin.
