Just pulled this from a MWR. A worn and discolored 1950-D. Still made my day.

Holy crap, mountainman 2! Congrats! I'm through 1/4 of a million nickels in 9 1/2 months and am still looking for my CRH 1950-D.

No Buffs or silver the first two days of the month, but three very interesting coins, nonetheless... My 2nd 1977-S proof, my 5th 1990-D No FS, and my 18th 2009-P as I cross 250,000 coins searched.

Well, I found a 1950 Jefferson yesterday, but when I turned it over there was no D... oh well, still broke out of my little slump and found that one along my first 1930 Buffalo, 1943-S War Nickel, and an AU 2009-P.

I am sure it would come with acetone sane as my 1939 DDR's but I am going to leave it "As Found" in my second string album for historical preservation / street cred reasons.

I acetoned the rough one and while the gunk is now gone you can see the discoloration under it and I am sure it would not grade clean not that it would have with the gunk on it.

Well, been very busy hunting. On Tuesday, I decided to hit up a Chase Bank I had never been to... got 10 CWRs and they produced 6 pre-60s including a 1917 Buffalo and a 1938-S!
The-Goal:-25,000-Rolls-Of-Nickels-All-Searchers-Welcome!

I hit my usual banks after that and found a record high 5 War Nickels along with a 1949-S amongst the 2 boxes worth of coins searched!
The-Goal:-25,000-Rolls-Of-Nickels-All-Searchers-Welcome!

Overall, I found 43 pre-60s in the 4,400 coins, along with a record high 11 2009-Ds.

On Wednesday, I decided to hit that Chase Bank again... this time I got 25 CWRs and found a 1938-D Jefferson!

The-Goal:-25,000-Rolls-Of-Nickels-All-Searchers-Welcome!

Interestingly, one of the other rolls in that batch had two 1958-P coins... very unusual, but good! I hit my other usual banks, but nothing special... 29 pre-60s in 2920 coins searched, and a lone 2009-D.

Needless to say, I will be going back to that Chase bank for thirds later on today!! Perhaps my 1950-D is lurking in that vault of theirs!

Thanks, jbuck!

So I went back to my Chase... Got 25 more CWR from them with 20 of them being the "generic" blue wrapped nickel rolls. About the 7th roll in, I dump the coins out, and all I see are coins from the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s! In all that roll had 18 pre-60s. I noticed there were also several 1960-D and 1970-S coins in the roll. Next roll has 22 pre-60s. The roll after that had 17 more pre-60s including a 1944-P War Nickel. Two more rolls in the batch were like those three, and they produced 22 and 17 pre-60s respectively. It was very obvious this was a "collection dump." There were a total of 58 1970-S coins in there (many in BU and a few with most of the steps which I kept), along with 20 1960-D, 19 1968-S, 5 1969-S, and single 1961-D, and 1964-D coins. I think I got VERY lucky with at War Nickel! One of the other "generic" rolls had a 1942-D... In all, the 5 rolls produced 96 pre-60s, the other 20 rolls had 10 pre-60s total, so I got 106 pre-60s from there...
The-Goal:-25,000-Rolls-Of-Nickels-All-Searchers-Welcome!

I also went to one of my usual Wells Fargo branches, and found 13 pre-60s in 30 rolls including a 1945-P - my 100th War Nickel from CRH!

The-Goal:-25,000-Rolls-Of-Nickels-All-Searchers-Welcome!

So 119 pre-60s in one day! A new record for me by 6 coins! My famous two day LOOMIS batch from the summer produced 99 coins the first day and 107 the next (I also got 6 pre-60s from another group of coins that day - total 113 coins)...

You better believe I'll be hitting that Chase again tomorrow... who knows what else that vault has?!

That is the plan. I am going to tap into other denominations once they run out of nickels.
