I've been roll hunting nickles for only a few years, but like the cents, it amazes me how often one can find real nice ones in circulation...and I mean older ones. Love roll searching!

Just polished off another box last night. Had the wonderful gift of an Indian Head/Buffalo sticking out the end of a roll at me when I opened the box. It was a well worn G/AG 1930, but a buffalo nonetheless. Ended up with 30 pre-1950's out of that box, including a 51S that filled a hole for me. Leaving me with just 6 to go!

I'm still looking for - 39S, 44D, 50, 50D, 55, and 58.

hockingzig - It looks like you had a bit more luck with your 20 rolls than I did. I think I'm down to 12 spots to go in my folder.

I am down to 3 needed. I started last January 15 and the goal was to complete the set in 1 year. Time is running out and I still need a 38 S ,42 D and 45 D. I don't think I will make it by this January 15th!

I'm with you in spirit hockingzig ..... expect that I'm on the 2-year plan.

Searched my first Jefferson roll on Feb 25, 2008 ..... and now .... 3410 rolls later ..... still need 4 to complete my humble Whitman 9009 ....

Still looking for a 38s, 42s, 43d and 44d.

Someday .... maybe?

Today I searched 160 rolls (Brinks box +72 rolls and 38 customer wrapped). Found a 1949S and a gum encrusted 1987S Proof. 73 other Pre 1960 including a gold toned MS 1956
(Looks like the silvers dried up around here and the Buffalo migrated south for the Winter....haven't seen either for a few weeks)

Indeed ratman ..... same here for silver and buffalo ....

I find, on average, a war silver Jefferson every 87.4 rolls searched ...... and I'm now 285 rolls since my previous silver find.

Have not seen a buffalo in over 500 rolls.

I just assumed that you were finding them all.

For awhile there I was really raking in the silver and Buffalo. It's got me spoiled.

Ratman - you are a machine! 160 rolls is some serious coin! You should post a picture of how your hands looked after that one! In fact... that's a great idea! Let's have a "Dirtiest hands after roll hunting" conest!
