Quote:1 box of nickels tonight. 43-D War Nickel.,1930 buffalo and a 1913 type 1. Unfortunately, the 1913 has considerable pitting on the reverse. Nice clear date though. Very nice!

I got a batch of 20 String&Son rolls from one of my banks last Saturday... was getting very frustrated as the first 10 rolls had nothing. No pre-60s and no 2009s... 11th roll had a 1939 and a 1940... a couple of rolls later, look at what popped out! Yes, there are traces of mint luster on it! I'd grade it at EF-45. My latest Coin Prices has this at $38 in EF-40 and $130 in AU-50... So, probably a $65-$70 or so coin!

Thanks, jbuck, illegaltender, and mountainman_2! My most valuable CRH find EVER! Strangely, I've been finding next to no War Nickels of late... but man, that No Cents V nickel and now this Buffalo, both in pristine condition... what's even more amazing is they're from two different vendors (LOOMIS and String&Son). I think I'm just going to buy as many nickels as I can the next couple of weeks and cut back on the cent searching... something weird (in a good way) is going on out here!

That is a good-looking Buffalo, John77. With your luck, you'll find a Shield nickel one of these days! My V-nickel find from last year is my avatar. Your 1883 is in better shape!

Thanks, aristarchus123! Funny you mention the Shield nickel... My two main nickel goals right now in this current CRH run are to find one of those, and, of course, that pesky 1950-D.

Inspired by this past weeks' crazygood finds, I went overboard yesterday in buying nickels, and made sure to hit the same tellers and branches where said amazing coins were found... almost done searching now, and let me tell you, the finds have been nothing short of AWESOME!... I'm going to keep you in suspense a little while longer... Get your ready!
