At the beginning of the year I wanted to sort 100 boxes of nickels and find a V nickel. I did find a V nickel in the register at work but I had yet to find one roll hunting. I just broke open box #100 and lo and behold, I found my first V in a roll!!

Congrats, Truehan! Lucky box #100! Vs are few and far between. I picked up 3,800 Nickels at 5 different branches yesterday - 3,000 MWR and 800 CWR. A box of 2,000 yielded for the first time ever for me TWO 2009-Ps, also seven 2009-Ds & a 1937 Buffalo, along with 15 other pre-60s - only notable was a 1946-S. The other 1,000 MWR produced 9 pre-60s and 3 2009-Ds... the 800 CWR had a nice surprise waiting for me in one of the rolls... a 2009-D and a 1946-S each showed up in one, and then 3 War Nickels (43-P, 45-S, 45-S poured out of another)! I'm friends with the teller who sold me that roll, and there were like five more that may have been from that same person... told me today he's holding them... I'll be there Monday. Note: I was able to get the gunk off of the nicer 2009-P after I scanned it.

Thank you so much for posting that, sich0015! You've found some very impressive stuff! That 1990-D in collar flip over double strike is an absolutely amazing coin! Out of curiosity, what part of the country are you in? I'm on the West coast and very recently found my 1950-D to complete my CRH set. I'm currently at 806,320 coins nickels searched in 21 months. I'm working on updating my spreadsheets at the moment, though I did post my Jefferson totals a few pages back and on my 1950-D nickel thread... I can add that I've found 19 1941-S Large S coins, 11 1990-D NO FS coins, and 2 Cuds.

Sich,
Amazing accomplishment! If my math is right that comes out to 6-7 rolls per day for 10 years! I wouldn't even attempt that feat. It has paid off, lots of interesting booty. Congrats.
Edit: nice finds John77
