The eyes of Jefferson on those 2009's are freaky looking.

Found a 1951-S tonight! Haven't been able to fill any holes for a while now, so this was a good find, with a mintage of 7,776,000. So now I have 15 holes left to fill. Also found a potential struck through cloth Jefferson variety and a 1940 KG6 penny today, so it was a good day! Cheers!

Thanks, jbuck! Yesterday's nickels box was really good, actually. When I say nickels box, it was actually just 40 rolls. I originally wanted pennies, but the bank ran out, and only had nickels. But boy was I glad that I got the nickels instead! Out of the 40 rolls, I got the following: - x1 1951-S semi-key date album filler - x1 Potential struck through cloth - x1 2009-D - x1 Singaporean coin - x1 1951 Belgian coin - x1 1943-S War Nickel- x1 1929-S Buffalo nickelSo I kinda hit the trifecta or multi-fecta with this one. It's rolls/days like these that keep you going. But, this is the 6th 1943 War Nickel that I've found in a row, or ever found for that matter. I'm starting to think only 1943 War Nickels exist in the wild ;-) Cheers!

I was ready to give up on customer wrapped nickels, because I just haven't had good luck with them recently. Decided today to get 10 customer rolls to help round out a box. Boy oh boy am I glad that I did! This is just 10 rolls, but I found the following: - x1 1938-S key date album filler in decent shape - x4 2009-D's - x1 Buffalo nickel, which was pretty beat up and dateless, but still - x4 1940's - x5 1950's So I'd say this was a pretty good haul! 14 holes left to fill:

So last Friday, I went back to my bank with the "lucky" teller... got $50 in MWR nickels from her and look at what popped out?!!! This 1910 coin is my first V nickel find of 2023! I went back there and showed it to her on Monday and she said she had never seen one of them before... so it was really cool to give her a little education. There were also two 2009-Ds in that group. She only had $30 in nickels (all MWR) on Monday, so I took all of them... I didn't really inspect the rolls until I got home... started to open one roll and noticed something unusual... No mintmark on that 1920 Buffalo, in case you were wondering. Yeah, I can't explain it... six visits there now since she started and every time I've gotten coins from her, I've gotten something really cool - silver dimes, obsolete nickels, NIFC small dollars, and, of course, that big nickel hoard which started it all. There were five other pre-60s in that group of 600 coins... I also went to another branch that afternoon and got 1,000 MWR nickels... no really good old pre-60s amongst the nine I found, though I did land another 2009-P and two 2009-Ds...
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

I know it doesn't really count as roll-hunting because the coins were all in a bag, but I looked through some nickels my sister got from my grandmother and there were 7 pre-1959s (1940 x2, 1946, 1949, 1953, 1953-D, and 1959-D) and a 1943-P War Nickel! They must have been in the bag a long time, as there were lots of uncirculated early 2000s and Westward Journey nickels in there, more than I typically come across in change.
