Went to a bank that wasn't mine today....got a box of Cents and a box of Nickels.....both Brinks. Started on the Nickels and found a 1946 S ......and ...... MY FIRST "V" NICKEL !!It's condition is terrible, but I can make out that it's year is 18-- something. And it is with "Cents". It's easily G-4 and/or less.....but hey....it's my first one found while roll searching !

I'm partway through another box and found my first 2009 P. It was so unexpected that I had thrown it into the reject pile and moved on to the next nickel before my brain kicked in and I realized what I had just tossed. Still need a 2009 D.

I broke down and bought the 2009 P, D and S set.
I'll still keep hoping though as I search my boxes.

Yep, a 2009 P. I had heard they only existed in captivity, but I found this one in the wild!

OK, I finished the box that gave up the 2009 P. Unfortunately that was the only 2009. I was sure hoping for a D. Anyway, ended up with 23 pre-1960 including a 1954 S. The S is not very clean. I need to get better magnification to see if it's a S/D. Also found a 1988 P with a nice Cud. All in all, a pretty good box. Here's the interesting thing. It looked like the box had already been searched. It was the Brinks plastic rolls. They were all stretched out, some were torn and the coins were practically falling out. The box was beat up and had a second strip of tape so it had been opened once. If someone searched it, they didn't do a very good job. Matt

what years does everyone keep? pre-60? I had been keeping 1959 and earlier, but lately I've dropped the 59's from my keep pile and have been putting them back into circ. opinions?
