The LU in Pluribus looks doubled. I am not sure about the AR in Carolina.

Looks like major Die Deterioration to me.

You may be right. I found something strange about the 2015 state park quarters. They all look like split letters at different angles on E PLURIBUS. However, if you change the angle slightly, you will see it is a whole letter not split. This coin when I double checked under USB microscope is actually whole and not split on the LU. Strange stuff lol.

That is actually machine damage on that area. The devices are incuse and when the strike bounces a bit, the raised devices on the die enlarge these incuse devices. Seem to be common on the ATB Quarters.

Oh I see. I am just finding out about the incuse machine damage. I had a similar thing like this on a 2015 LSC with VDB initials being Machine Damaged. Thanks Coop.
