Yes, but about 8 months latter the Coin Show was hawking the 2005 versions for 2500 to 3000.00, this coin is kind of cool but not 10 grand cool.

To me, it is a wrong planchet error, nothing more. Frankly, I'd rather have a 2003P 1c struck on a 10c planchet...

Totally agree, nothing like a coin struck on a different colour metal just stands right out.

The completionist would love to have this in my collection but not for anywhere near 10K.

If memory serves me correct about 6 months ago a 2003P non Magnetic was sold at one of the regular auctions here for about $2100 Cdn.
Smallcentguy will probably remember this one. I believe it was graded by ICCS.

Yes....the auction was more like 18 months ago at that price...... and SPP you forgot I put it in your hand!
TCNC sold another maybe a year ago for a little under $10,000.

My guess is that several more will come out of the wood work.

For those who followed my auction, I cut the set and got this back from ICCS and as suspected grade of a MS67.

Another 2003P non-magnetic penny up for grabs today, this one is at the Torex Auction. Graded PL68 by PCGS, the bid is currently at $3500.00.

Can't be a PL68. PL coins were discontinued in 1980.

PCGS uses the PL designation for cents right up 'til 2010.

The 2003P non-magnetic one cent sold yesterday for $4,130.00, including buyers premium. It is certainly nice to see that a modern day error can realize a healthy selling price. For me, that is one of the things that makes coin collecting so enjoyable. The set that this coin was in probably sold for less than $30 from the mint. I do not own this coin and I currently could not justify spending 4,000.00 on one coin, but I still have the opportunity to own one. All I have to do is be patient and keep hunting.
