Is there any way to do this? I'm not talking about AT, I'm talking about manipulating environmental factors such as increasing exposure, humidity, etc...
What got me thinking about this is I got some really nice, BU, toned pennies from my grandparents from like 1995-2000. Of course they're not worth very much, but the eye appeal is amazing. I was surprised that coins could tone that quickly (and I know they didn't tone them themselves...they just threw them in a jar and let them sit for 15 years...).

Have you tried the "taco bell napkin method?"

I do this all the time. But it does take time. Pending on where you live, place coins on a piece of raw wood, place on window sill and turn occasionally. If you place the wood on the inside, should be on a kitchen window sill. The coins will tone and the degree would be due to the amount of cooking and type of cooking done in the kitchen.
Rest in Peace

NAPKIN ? I always thought it was rubbing the coin with the wrapper of a rice and bean burrito.

Stick the coins into a burrito and let it sit on the windowsill for 15 years.

BiggFredd used to live near a glass manufacturing plant, he could put an ASE on his windowsill for 60 days and it was gorgeous.

If there were that many chemicals in the air to tone the coins, I'm not sure I would want to live there.

I have placed dozens of coins in simple kraft envelopes with some remarkable results over the years.

This was in an old coin envelope on top of my dresser for two months or so.

Blast white after being scrubbed clean. The raw surfaces left them very reactive and susceptible to toning.

I bought the coin cleaned. I did NOT clean it myself.

Very nice! Certainly nicer than it was when cleaned.

I just bought my first Seated quarter for $10 and your description of blast white cleaned is very accurate. I had posted another coin a few weeks ago and someone responded about putting it with an egg for toning. after I bought this one I thought about trying to naturally tone it. Is the envelope you used similar to the one linked above?
