That one is a nice find. always nice to find doubling that strong. (not sure of that die number though, it maybe. I just don't have a reference for that number) My CPG doesn't list this one. (I have volume two)

If you have a reference, I would compare with the MONTICELLO to see if that doubling is a match first. That is probably the strongest there.

WOW, nice find That coin is at least an AU-58, probably into low MS-63!

Really Nice, could you see that right off because of the thickness?

CoinCents: Thickness, notches (notice "LL" in Monticello"), and splits (notice "F" in "OF) OcalaFlorida: You always have nice nickel DDs to post. :D You don't find these in circulation do you? The War Nickels you post always have nice details.

I would have thought LL was a worn Die because of its thickness. It seems like all thick letter ones I submit have the worn Die Deterioration. I agree Ocala always gets some good nickels, I love the "trails" and hope I will come across one.

Nickel DD are my favorite so I will get anyway I can. With nickels volume is the key Due to my $ most are cherry picked but I do buy a few but most my best ones like my 1960 bu QDR was cherry pick I mostly cherry pick my lcs he has hundreds of bu 2x2 I can look through. He does not care about varieties. He lets me look and I show him the stuff I find but cost is still non variety cost. Mostly I memorize the points of interest look at ebay and blow up image copy paste it into photoshop and then buy and hope for match if not put into album. People like silver years so easy to flip. I like too buy silver bu books or albums or rolls take out and replace varieties and flip the rest to break even and get varieties for free. but I end up keeping all ...I also buy varieties time to time off ebay if cheap some slabbed are way out my reach. I bought odd ones from Brian's variety coin as reference. I have found bu War Nickels at bank but not common but I live in retirement town so collections are brought into bank and lcs by next of kin. I once got 3 rolls with the coins in order including all but 1 War Nickels 2 or 3 of them looked au/bu..

I have been getting the rolls of the current pennies from the bank since I pretty much have only the wheats, but nothing good comes of it. Have you any experience with the bank rolls to pass on?
Thanks

Bank cent rolls all have something in them if you buy a brick you should find a bunch of modern errors or varieties. I found nothing first few months but after 6 months of learning I went back to same coins and find stuff. I tend to search OBW rolls or bags or use loupe to cherry pick 2x2 or off ebay. The people in the roll hunting section could be of better help as they might have things they learned.

Yes, I think the key here for me is the Varieties. I need to learn what they are. I have been reading on the other forum as well, like you mentioned but obviously need to be there more.
Thanks Ocala
