Found another die clash that matches up with 1983-03 on maddieclashes: http://www.maddieclashes.com/adc-1c-1983-03/ Hard to get a picture of, but the die crack is in the right place. Memorial clashed behind Lincoln's head, tilted towards the NE. Lincoln's vest clashed in the 3rd Memorial Bay. This is awesome and I haven't even been through 10% of the box.

Excellent! As I mentioned, take your time and go through it carefully. I had a similar stash that I went through 3 times and found many choice specimens. I wish I had it to go through it again as I've learned so much more over the past couple of years, but those coins are long gone. Don't be in a rush to cash in those cents if you can help it.
Good luck on the hunt!!

PS - flatten those staples. You don't want to put scratches on the adjacent coin in the next flip.

How do you recommend flattening the staples?

I love it when I come across a coin with heavy die scratches from where a mint employee went "Oh crap, we messed up"

Quote: what happened to this 1970 D? It's almost dime sized. It's what old guys like me used to do to a penny so it would fit into a machine that only took dimes. 10c for a 6oz bottle of coca-cola...

I use the flat end of a letter opener. What you want are staples that are flush with the flip surface. Not above it. If you can feel it then it's a possible scratch hazard. Nothing worse than finding an MS coin and putting it in a flip for safety only to booger it up with an adjacent flip with prutruding staples.
Consider how easily a staple can poke through the thin plastic film. Most of us here have at least one sad story like this report. Hopefully we can spare you this tough lesson. Can't wait to see your next finds!
