There is no single coin I want that much.
If I had unlimited funds, however, I would try to build a comprehensive collection of British gold coins.

To be honest, it's not generally money that stops me. Not that I'm a millionaire or anything. Just that many of the coins I'd like are owned by other people and not available to buy. But on a whim I'd quite like one of these: A gold Angel coin of Charles II of Britain, officially pierced to be presented as a 'Touch Piece' by the King at a special ceremony. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touch_piece.

Quote: If I had unlimited funds, however, I would try to build a comprehensive collection of British gold coins. You could do worse than buy some literature Demarco. This for example? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-Hemis...AOSwdvpWDOdASorry about the threadjack. But you're not set up to receive emails. .

Quote: There is no single coin I want that much. This. Quote: If you want a coin with real, significant history, stay away from any over-hyped million-dollar US junk. And this. I have very many multiple-coin ideas, few if any single-coin ones; as of right this moment best I can think of is a "one coin from each Roman emperor" set. (Though this is kind of open-ended; apparently some emperors' coins are only known in less than a dozen examples, and some might not actually be real... Constantia in particular.) With slightly less but still a lot of money, I'd go for one of these "One From Each Century" sets. That one is, in fact, in my long-term plans, but I have no idea where to get either anything medieval, or old Greek silver (never mind electrum). One reasonably individual coin type that is on my wishlist but slightly beyond what I consider affordable: CC mint dime. (Well, CC mint anything, really, but dime or dollar seems most likely.)

sel_69l Thank you for those interesting yet somewhat disturding stories about squishing Spiders. As I have been telling poeple for years. Spiders are our friends they are extremely vitail in keep the insect population down. As are Bats.
Ok back to the topic.

haha I actually keep tarantulas as pets, so I'm not on board with the whole squishing spiders thing :D Ok another one I would love is this. Supposedly, it's the finest Morgan in existence, and I'd have to agree. It sold for $110,000, which is waaay underpriced imo. If I had the money, I would easily pay twice that. Of course that's just a dream, but the proof crown is actually one that may possibly be something I'd consider way in the future if I had the money... Unfortunately, you can't post large photos on here, but you all should go look it up. It truly is amazing. Another I'd love to get is a true monster toned Morgan.

I prefer old and worn (or new and shiny), non expensive world coins, apposed to high grade and valuable ones, or really any valuable coins regardless of their grade. I find the common ones more interesting. If I got a lot of money I would not spend it all on one or a few coins, but rather on many non expensive ones that I like.

I don't have any specific coin in mind, but someday, provided by chance and money, I'd like to own a nice example of 8 reales cob coin.

It would certainly be the mythical 1933 Gold Double Eagle that was never released.
