I am relatively new at collecting, and enjoy going thru rolls, looking for finds. I hove lots of holes in my collection to fill. Currently, I am looking for Kennedy half dollars and Dollars(Ike, SBA, Sacagawea, and the new ones).

I have read about some people finding coins in "bank boxes'? What are they, and how can I get them? Are they worth the trouble?

Thankx.

Hello...I did a search of two boxes of halves that I had my bank order for me. They were $500/each so $1000 total, 2000 total coins. I found 3 silver 40% halves, and 6 Kennedy half dollars not released for circulation (2001P and after). $1000 may seem like alot to part with but after I went through them, I backfilled what I took out with halves I didnt need and cashed them back in. So I actually came out ahead doing this. You can always stop at various branches and ask for halves if you dont want to go to this extreme. Good luck!

Thanks alot, for the informative reply. The investment is big, but I absolutely love to look thru rolls and search for coins- a box of such quantity would be fabulous!

There's no real investment. I'm getting a box of pennies tomorrow. Then I take them back to the bank and deposit into my account. Money is only gone for a weekend ;)
