Hiya Lim or everyone else here, I thought you might be the best to answer this question.
Appearently Australia has minted some massive platinum coins in the past including several kilo platinum coins. Of course, this doesn't happen nowadays because of the expensive platinum prices. I was suprised if not shocked when I first read about it.
One odd question - has anyone actually seen such piece?!?!?!? I actually have seen a kilo gold coin before, but not a kilo platinum piece yet. I am really hoping someone here has seen it... :)

Welcome to the Forum .. The Lunar year of the Dog...are you looking for the specimen finished one or the Proof one As you are in the US, buying from there might be cheaper than buying from here when you take into account postage and handling. There are heaps of sellers your way on ebay who are selling the Lunar coins.

monforte go to Downies.com and click on American Customer. You can shop online, pay online or if you like, request a catalog. I buy from Downies quite often as the price is right (for U.S.) and they deliver promptly considering where the coins come from. I think you will like their service. The only other option is to go to ebay, click on Coins, find Australia and go from there. There are quite a few Aussie 2006 Lunar, Year of the Dog, coins offered right now and many of them are already in the U.S. Hope this helps!

Downies has always been fair and honest. they have closed up their shop in California, but have a toll free number that rings them in Australia, that is why the catalogue list the hours the way it does.
They maintain a distribution center in the US so when you order from them, you orders (American) are shipped from within the country- thus no customs.
